Digitization X Business Ethics Education 3.0

Digitization X Business Ethics Education 3.0

As all kinds of emerging technologies are being leveraged in the market, how to use digital tools to enhance the education on the Code of Ethics to practitioners in the direct selling industry is one of the focused issues of the Direct Selling Association (DSA). In contrast to conventional pedagogy where the teacher gives a lecture behind a lectern and the students jot down their notes lowered heads (Education 1.0), followed by the introduction of technical elements such as computers, presentations, CD-ROMs, audiovisual teaching materials and the Internet in pedagogical settings (Education 2.0), active learning breaks away from temporal and spatial constraints with the assistance of all kinds of digital tools, ushering in an era of Education 3.0 with integrated virtual and physical learning.
Since the Code of Ethics Evaluation Roadshows for distributors was concluded in July, feedback from the trainees generally show that promotional programs for the Code of Ethics help enhance their identification with the industry and their level of trust. The trainees also suggested that such activities should be further promoted. The DSA will ride the digital wave of popularized mobile devices and create program content in a simplified and easy-to-digest version, which direct selling operators and practitioners may directly download from DSA's official website for use. Thus the constraints of territorial and physical space are eliminated. The Code of Ethics can be quickly disseminated in the entire direct selling industry through a handset and an Internet connection.
In addition, to promote ethical self-regulation of the industry under the Code of Ethics in more diverse and effective manners, the DSA will conduct activities to solicit application for the Direct-selling Business Ethics Planning Contest in the middle of September. It is hoped that novel ideas from all walks of life can be extensively solicited, and creative thoughts in different fields can be incorporated. In this way, gaps of communication with the public can be bridged, and the positive image of the DSA for its willingness to communicate can be fostered. Employees or distributors of member companies are welcome to participate by submitting their proposals. Relevant activity information will be posted in the DSA's official website and activity Facebook pages. Please pay continued attention to the latest information.
